The Scoop on Jelly Bean and Porting to Your Phone

XDA-Developers is the true source to get all of your phone scoop info on getting new OS’s on your new and old phones. I’m often talking about iPhone’s and most recently the Galaxy class phones from Samsung. Android, different from iOS, has a huge customer base of phone hackers that put mixed and ported ROM’s on all sorts of phones. That stock phone you bought has nothing on what these XDA developers are doing these days.

If you have a Galaxy S II, HTC HD2, Sensation, or Amaze 4G, you can get Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) on your phone today! Just look search around the XDA Developers forms and look for your phone, then type in CyanogenMod 10 and push a new image to your phone, just like you would a stock ROM. You can use CyanogenMod’s website here, but I recommend some reading up on your device to figure out how to load the ROMS. It’s well work the try.

If you might not feel up to the challenge of loading up a new and custom ROM, but want to hear the scoop on all these new phones and upgrades, watch this video. You’ll see how popular that Galaxy S III is really getting, and some of the latest news from Apple and Verizon. Check it out.
