IT Professionals with Poor Communication Skills

I feel like this should be an ever evolving subject.

IT seems to attract those who can think in one part of their brain but not the other. Communication skills are extraordinarily valuable when providing a service. My particular issue now is when it comes down to written electronic documents such as Email and Word documents.

In my opinion, it is easily clear that lack of Microsoft Word Document formatting and Email formatting portrays a multi-layered deficit of attention to detail. It portrays something similar to someone who has bad grammer, someone who doesn’t wear a belt with work slacks, someone who wears white socks with black dress shoes. Attention to detail in the IT world is extremely important, and as much as IT people may have their brains focused on other things in their lives, I stress: Please focus on what “other people” see.

It shine’s through. Be detailed, be specific, take that extra step!

And as always, expect what you ask for, whether you portray it in your instructions, payments, clothing, or communication skills.
