It’s quite common that a computer or laptop needs a complete refresh, with a format and clean install. But, what happens if you lost your original Windows CD/DVD’s? Lets say you buy a Laptop or Desktop on eBay or some other source and it comes with no CD’s? or no Operating System at all?
It’s actually quite simple. If you have an OEM Laptop or Desktop, simply call the manufacturer. You will typically have a service tag number on your PC somewhere. Even if you lose your disks or they get damaged, call up the manufacturer and have them ship you the original CD/DVD’s. Often times, this will only cost you $5 to $10 for the cost of the disk, but it gives you a solid copy of your operating system, with all of the drivers and software all ready for you.
Very few people know of this, but even second hand, buying an OEM PC has many advantages. You will save yourself a lot of time and money. Enjoy!
