Twitters new redesign, re-marketing, and new image, Wow! Twitter is a huge phenomena, bringing in unbelievable amounts of traffic on one of the most simple ideas. Twitter draws on the largest stars in the world, creating a new sense of following, and while it seems that twitter provides “very little” (only 140 characters), the simplicity is where it’s power is derived.
Twitter has gone through not only a new re-design, but what looks to be a re-brand. Simply found in the new top navigation, “Home, Connect, Discover” now action words, clearly a usability change, designated to our previous “Home, Mention’s, and…” well, we never had a definition for hash tags. It seems that Twitter is growing up; it’s tag-line has now been defined. And with the definition of the company in the face of every user.
Let’s be honest, most people hate change. How often do you see Facebook change and hear the rage of everybody complaining about it, then slowly being quieted. The new Twitter looks good! And it lets my background show more, which is all I have control over to advertise my blog. I would say this new design is perfect! My only other question is, is this a step towards monetization?
