CEO Friday: Why Not to Hire C# Developers

Hold on just a second. These are not my words. Exactly two years ago, this post came out, explaining why over at Expensify, they do not hire C# Programmers. Not because they were not talented, not because they are Microsoft shop material, but because there are so many resumes in the world, that a straight filter on C# programmers made their recruiting efforts several times better.

I have my own views on the C# language and the Microsoft shops. I group them with Java, Objective-C, and the like. Those strict languages that put object compatibility and library discovery in your way of simply getting code done such as loosely typed languages such as Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby, and dare I say, ColdFusion.

It’s a very fun post to read, so here it is for you.
